The 2019 Kia Sedona was unveiled at the 2018 New York International Auto Show sporting a refreshed exterior design and a refined cabin space. The updated model maintains the same functional convenience with generous passenger and cargo space but adds upscale interior styling, innovative technology features, and premium amenities. The 2019 Sedona boasts newly designed front and rear fascias that reflect similar design elements featured on some of the newer models in Kia’s lineup. Other subtle, yet significant changes include a newly available rear-seat entertainment system, additional convenience features, and a newly available 8-speed automatic transmission.
The Sedona’s award-winning interior adds more refinement for the new model year, starting with a more modern dashboard complete with new graphics in the instrument cluster. The minivan offers upscale customization options, including available wood grain trim on the front door panels, an LED mood lamp, and the choice between an available single or dual sunroof. The floor console between the front seats now offers an available wireless charger and a sunglasses holder.
A handful of upgrades were designed with rear passengers in mind, including a USB charge point, an available Rear Entertainment System with dual 10.1″ touchscreens on the back of the front seats (instead of the outgoing model’s overhead screen), and two wireless Bluetooth-enabled headphones with enhanced comfort and sound quality. The Rear Entertainment System also features smartphone-mirroring functionality and internet access via compatible smartphones, so users can watch online videos on the screens.
In addition to the host of driver-assistance systems already available on the Sedona, including Forward Collision Warning, Smart Cruise Control, Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning, Blind Spot Warning, and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, the 2019 Sedona now offers Driver Attention Warning. Driver Attention Warning is designed to detect driver fatigue or inattentive driving and respond with visual and audible warnings. With the new addition, the 2019 Sedona is expected to earn a Top Safety Pick + rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) when equipped with Forward Collision Warning.
