Within the lineup of Kia crossover SUVs available at Lakeshore Kia, the Sorento continues to be a customer favorite. So, what’s new for the 2020 Kia Sorento? We have received our first delivery of the 2020 Sorento and our team has finally had a chance to go over the crossover with a fine-toothed comb so we can tell buyers why this should be the vehicle they take home. Kia has only made a few subtle changes to the 2020 Sorento for the new model year. However, potential buyers will still room for plenty of passengers spread across the vehicle’s three rows of seats as well as the option for having a V-6 engine under the hood. Let’s take a closer look.
Some of the biggest changes made to the 2020 Kia Sorento include the elimination of the EX Sport and SX Limited trim grades. Additionally, the automaker has made some changes to the front are rear bumpers as well as the exterior lighting elements.
Customers will be able to choose between two engine options, depending on which trim grade they choose. The standard powertrain consists of a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter, inline four-cylinder engine attached to a six-speed automatic transmission. It will make 185 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. At the top of the trim ladder, Lakeshore Kia customers can also have a naturally aspirated 3.3-liter, V-6 engine under the hood that will employ an eight-speed automatic. It will make 290 horsepower and 252 pound-feet of torque.
Versions of the 2020 Kia Sorento with front-wheel-drive and the four-cylinder engine will be able to achieve 22 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the highway. The V-6 can also use FWD and offer 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. All-wheel-drive can also be equipped on either engine. The four-cylinder engine with AWD will produce 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Buyers choosing the V-6 with AWD can expect 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.
